Here's how Damp2Dry can help
Damp proofing a cellar can be carried out in two ways. The first option is cement-based. This strategy involves waterproof cement membrane, being applied to the internal walls of the cellar or basement. The second option is a water management system which involves installing cavity drainage membrane which is channelled into drainage.
This can either be a gravity system or a pump system.

The Different Types of Basement Waterproofing
There are 3 types of basement waterproofing, which one is most suitable to your property will depend on the extent of the water damage. British Standards: 8102:2022 provides guidance on the 3 types of waterproofing. You can also use a combination of more than one type if necessary.
These are the 3 types of basement waterproofing:
• Type A – Barrier Protection: This includes basement \ cellar tanking, where waterproof materials are placed on the interior and exterior walls as well as the floor. This creates a barrier between the structure and groundwater.
• Type B – Structural Integration Protection The structure itself protects against water ingress. The quality of the concrete structure acts as waterproofing. Also joints and services penetrations are made waterproof to stop water from passing through the structure.
• Type C – Water Management System – A water management system and drains are used to make sure that any water that does get in is transferred to a specific disposal point.
